The renovation of the Community Building of the 667-1 Elderly Housing project is a combination of accessibility improvements, termite damage repair and general modernization. The project includes two accessible entrances and renovations of the kitchen, toilets and laundry facilities for accessibility. The project includes repair of framing caused by a recent termite infestation, installation of a new roof and air conditioning for the Community Room used for meetings and social gatherings.

The Community Building is a free standing structure to support the 36 units of elderly housing.
The project has a limited budget requiring our office, DHCD and the Housing Authority to carefully define the scope of work to maximize the benefit to the residents.

The project includes improved attic insulation for comfort and reduced heating costs. The roof and insulation work includes new attic ventilation to correct existing moisture accumulation and occassional freezing of plumbing in the attic.
The entrance improvements will revitalize the screened porch in the rear yard, that was seldom used due to the difficulty of access.
